Bioluminecent Bay Tour - Vieques (Evening)

The Island Flyer is a unique twin hulled, wave piercing, motorized vessel that makes the run to Vieques at high speed, covering the distance in about 45 minutes. The vessel departs Puerto Del Rey Marina (Puerto Rico’s most luxurious) at 5:00 PM, arriving Isabel Segunda, Vieques at 5:45 PM. Upon arrival, guests will be treated to a fun (but very informal) Puerto Rican style meal at Mar Azul (Blue Sea), a lo-cal eatery in the waterfront area of Isabel Segunda. Following this early dinner they will board vans or buses, which will take them to the Bioluminescent Bay Information Center where they will view exhibits and learn about the eco systems involved in the bay. From here they will travel a short distance to the edge of the bay itself where they will board a pontoon boat (electric powered) and spend the next hour and 45 minutes on and in the waters of the bay. A very educational presentation will be made prior to the guests actually being able to immerse themselves in the bay, where they will marvel at the shimmer-ing streaks and stars that their actions in the water create. A nearby darting fish, for instance, creates a flash or streak of light through the water

The guests will return to the parking lot to board vans for the return to Isabel Segunda, where they will board the Island Flyer for their return trip, departing Vieques at 10:00 PM and arriving back at Villa Ma-rina at 1045 PM.

This tour can operate on an exclusive basis with a minimum of 40 and the maximum capacity of the Bio-bay boat is 45.

Guests should bring a towel and swim suit if they would like to swim (or they can wear their swim suit under their shorts and shirt and return slightly damp) and swimming on this trip makes it so much more memorable. Guests may want to bring cash to purchase alcoholic drinks at the restaurant’s bar, and for crew gratuities. Piña coladas, beers, sodas and snacks are served onboard the Island Flyer.

Cost from Puerto Del Rey Marina is $99.00 net per person plus ten percent gratuity. Round trip trans-fers from hotels in Puerto Rico must be added to this fee.
