Casa de España
The Casa de España was founded in 1913 when a group of Spaniards residing in Puerto Rico decided to cre-ate an institution that would offer all of the social, sporting, recreation and cultural functions that its members might wish in a colony. In 1935 a plot of land was generously donated by the Puerto Rican government to the club, and since that time it has stood, in Moorish splendor, it’s glazed blue tiles a famous landmark in the Old City, at its present location.
Its famous Salon de Espejos (Salon of Mirrors) has been a favorite formal site for weddings, christenings and debuts for the prominent citizens numbered amongst its membership for decades. By special arrangement with the board of Directors of the Club the facility has been made available to upscale groups visiting from overseas. Rental and corkage fee for a group of 100 persons in the Salon de Espejos currently runs $2,500.00. Overall, groups of up to 200 persons maximum can be accommodated for cocktails and dinner if the courtyard, library and Salon of Mirrors are all used.
