Asilo de Beneficencia
Built in the 1840’s for the indigent, it now houses the headquarters of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, several changing exhibition galleries, and an interesting Pre-Colombian room. The former Asilo de Beneficencia, “houses for the poor”, with two lovely inner patios that with catering and theming added, can provide a perfect venue for private cocktails up to 350 people, and sit down dinner for up to 250 people. Up to 600 people can be accommodated for cocktails with heavy hors d’oeuvres if both inner patios or courtyards were used. We are authorized to use the roof top patio as well which has a splendid view of el Morro.
