Coastal Biking and Water Fun

The Piones Lagoon area, located to the east of San Juan airport, between the Westin Rio Mar and the airport, on the north coast along one of Puerto Rico's most beautiful beach areas has recently had a 7 - mile asphalt and boardwalk bicycle and jogging trail built. This trail parallels the ocean as well as diverts at one point into the mangrove preserve areas of the Pi'ones Lagoon.

Our visitors arrive at the launch site and are given some basic instruction along with backpacks containing water bottles, and beach snacks (energy bars). They spend the next two hours traveling along this trail, stopping at one point for about 45 minutes of beach fun, having fun playing water football, paddleball, or just enjoying the sun. There is an observation tower that provides magnificent views just a few paces away from this beach.

The equipment is first class - our guests will ride Mongoose comfort ride bicycles, equipped with front, rear and seat shocks. While built for comfort, these are real mountain bikes. Since the riding will all be on level land, the bikes are three speed, which is most ample for the needs of the tour.

Cautionary Notes:
Guests need to be reasonably athletic to be active in this program.
Weight limit is 225 pounds.
Participants must be at least 13 years of age.
Older prospective participants should be mindful of the length of the experience and the degree of challenge it affords them before deciding to participate.
Pregnant individuals should best not consider participating.
Each participant will be asked to sign a waiver prior to commencement of the activity.

What to bring and what to wear:
T-shirts, shorts and swimming apparel - change of dry clothing.
Shoes - no sandals or flip flops
Sunglasses, hats and sunscreen are suggested

Don't Bring:
Jewelry, watches, bracelets or wallets - anything you don't want to lose.
No smoking or fires of any kind are permitted
No alcohol consumption permitted.
