Rustic Tour of the Bioluminescent Bay in Vieques

RUSTIC TOUR OF THE BIOLUMINESCENT BAY IN VIEQUES (EVENING)

This is a rustic tour that not only gives you the opportunity to view the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world, but gives you a peek at the rural countryside of the island of Vieques. The Island Flyer is a unique twin hulled, wave piercing, motorized vessel that makes the run to Vieques at high speed, covering the distance in about 45 minutes. The vessel departs Puerto Del Rey Marina (Puerto Rico�s most luxurious) at 4:45 PM, arriving in the main town of Vieques, Isabel Segunda, Vieques at 5:30 PM. Rum Punch, Pina Coladas, and soft drinks are included on the Island Flyer. Upon arrival, guests will be treated to a fun (but very informal) Puerto Rican style meal at Richard�s, a local eatery in the area of Isabel Segunda. Depending on the number of participants, food will be served buffet-style or by pre-ordering off a menu. Following this early dinner they will board vans or buses, which will take them to the Bioluminescent Bay Information Center where they will view exhibits and learn about the eco systems involved in the bay. From here they will board the Magic BioBay School Bus for a trip down a bumpy dirt road to the edge of the bay itself where they will board a pontoon boat (electric powered) that keeps the bay free of any pollutants. Your group will spend the next hour and 45 min-utes on and in the waters of the bay. As you take an initial tour of the Bay, you will treated to a fully interpretive nature and brilliant star lecture. After you�ve learned about how and why the bay glows, you�ll have a chance to swim and experience the magic up close! Your group will marvel at the shimmering streaks and stars that their actions in the water create. A nearby darting fish, for instance, creates a flash or streak of light through the water

The guests will return to the parking lot to board vans for the return to Isabel Segunda, where they will board the Island Flyer for their return trip, departing Vieques and arriving back at Villa Marina at 10:00PM.

Minimum/Maximum:
� This tour can operate on an exclusive basis with a minimum of 40 and the maximum capacity of the Bio-bay boat is 40. On a non-exclusive basis, the minimum is 12.

What to Bring:
Dress is casual. Guests should bring a towel and swim suit if they would like to swim (or they can wear their swim suit under their shorts and shirt and return slightly damp) as swimming on this trip makes it so much more memorable. Guests may want to bring cash to purchase alcoholic drinks at the restau-rant�s bar, and for crew gratuities. Pi�a coladas, beers, sodas and snacks are served onboard the Is-land Flyer.
Do not wear insect repellent or lotions as these will damage the fragile ecosystem of the Bio-Bay. Flo-tation devices are provided for your swim.
Important Note: For those prone to seasickness, Dramamine is a MUST. The tour also involves a ride down a really bumpy dirt road, so prepare to be shaken up a bit.
